Royalty Takes Over Children’s Museum Fundraiser
Earlier this month, over 200 Princesses attended the Children’s Museum of Branch County‘s Royal Princess Meet-and-Greet Ball at the Dearth Center on March 8th. For the fifth year, princesses came from many distant lands such as Fairy Empire from Ludington, MI to attend this afternoon event full of games and activities. The princesses were dressed in their finest royal attire and many were wearing their best jewels for the occasion. With Royal adult chaperones, the Dearth Center entertained an almost capacity crowd with a stunning assortment of princesses dancing, decorating cupcakes, playing games and having their royal pictures taken. “We are so grateful to all of the Royalty that came from across the land to attend and raise funds for the Children’s Museum of Branch County. This was our best “friendraiser” for the CMBC raising over $8,500 and gaining us so many Royal friends in the process,” said Kayla Gray, President of the CMBC. Gray added that the museum is primarily supported through sponsorships which are vital to maintaining the museum and allowing it to grow.

Since the CMBC opened, it has been providing children a place to go to explore, learn and grow. The CMBC has been steadily growing since 2014 and is always looking at expanding exhibits. With over 14,000 children under the age of five in a five county radius, the CMBC provides children with an educational environment to have fun while learning. There are currently 21 exhibits at the museum suited primarily for children ages 1-10.
“We are always looking for volunteers at the Museum. We have Board positions available for those interested in taking a more active role in shaping the future of the museum or if someone wants to be a “floor helper,” volunteering at the museum during open hours,” said Melissa Austin, CMBC Treasurer.
Austin added that CMBC is a great place to volunteer because the focus of the museum is on enriching the lives of children.
